Updates just to piss you off

I am a huge asshole. Not being truthful to my fans (if I have any) and not even giving a shit. I went ahead and spent $100 on three new games. For anyone curious, the games are Far Cry 3, Saints Row 3, and Skyrim. I'm expecting Skyrim to be the next review since it's most likely downloaded first, but we'll see. Anyway, I'm going to start making this into a video series to get some more fans, but don't expect that soon. Short update, not incredibly important, but it's okay.

Borderlands - Is it worth it?

I know, I said I was going to do AirBuccaneers next, but I just bought Borderlands and Guns of Icarus online and they both sucked out my life, so next, I'll do a comparison of Guns of Icarus and AirBuccaneers, deal? No? There's just no pleasing you.

Gameplay

Borderlands, to be honest, looked boring when I first looked at it. The only reason I got interested in the game was Tiny Tina in the sequel. No, I don't have the sequel. Anyway, Borderlands really isn't all different compared to other shooters. Melee, shoot, and collect what they drop. The only difference in gameplay I've noticed is jumping around trying not to get hit. There is no health generation by default. That sucks because I get killed so goddamn often. I've played 7 hours of this game and it just gets boring after a while. All you do is kill things, complete quests, and find new places. However, just because it's repetitive doesn't mean it sucks. The only complaint I have about this game is the driving controls suffer from Halo syndrome, which is where your vehicle turns in the direction you face. WHY? There's no purpose. This control is okay if you have a fixed gun on the vehicle, but the mounted gun on your vehicle is controlled by your mouse if it's not mounted. What's the point if your vehicle turns in the direction you look? That's all for gameplay.

Reputation (I can only talk about the community if I've played the multiplayer, which I haven't.)

Borderlands is loved by everyone who's played it. Everyone. I still have yet to see a single person who doesn't like this game. And to be honest, they're right. I like the game to an extent, whether I've played the multiplayer or not.

Replay Value

Even after you finish the campaign, there's still side quests and oh so much to do afterwards. There's even an arena mode where you can fight against your friends. So much to do in this game.

Is it worth it?

Almost. I bought this game during a sale, so I didn't pay the full price. I haven't played the entire game yet, and I haven't tried the multiplayer, but I like it so far. It may be worth it for some people, but not all.

2/3

Thanks for reading the full review, if you have any questions, (I said questions, not requests) send me an email at lemonsanddragons@gmail.com. Like I said in the beginning, instead of reviewing AirBuccaneers, I'm  going to do a comparison of AirBuccaneers and Guns of Icarus online. Hope you enjoyed!

Crysis 2 - Is it worth it?

Yes, I know it's pretty, yes, I know it's shiny, yes, I know it's better than real life, but VISUALS DON'T MATTER. Good visuals are just about as important as the government (let the political flame war begin). I don't really like Crysis 1 because the level design is downright horrible. Why are cars so breakable and how come helicopters never leave me alone? More importantly, I need to be in a car to protect myself from the helicopter bullets but if you went on foot and passed a checkpoint that isn't anywhere near a vehicle, have fun dying because the last checkpoint is a mile away and there's a hoard of Koreans who want your spleen. That's the short version of my Crysis 1 review. Don't expect a longer version for a while. Crysis 2 on the other hand is absolutely amazing, but is it worth it?

Gameplay

Your main ally in this game is the Nanosuit you wear for the campaign and the same suit you wear in Crysis 1. What they did the same, nothing. The suit was fully changed in every way. What they changed, well now the suit only has 3 different modes: Armor, Power, and Stealth. Each mode can be upgraded by killing aliens who want your sweet Neck Blood® and collecting a sparkly pixie dust they drop called "nano catalyst." What do they do? Armor replaces your health with energy, which was crucial in Crysis 1 because your health in the first game dropped like a bird with an anvil tied to its tongue. In Crysis 2, they improved it by lowering bullet damage and adding a slightly slower health regeneration, so it was still balanced. Power is the only non-toggleable mode in the game. It affects your sprint, your superjump, and your melee. So basically they took speed and power and gave them to Chuck Green for a shiny new item that can be used to your advantage in this hellhole called Manhattan. Last, there's the stealth. The stealth gives you a cloak and (with an upgrade) lowers the sound you make. You're going to use all of these at least once. Whether you're detected when sneaking, or trying to escape a firefight. Crysis 2 handles this almost perfectly. +1

Community

Crysis 2's community is, to be honest, much more intelligent than the people who don't play Crysis. You don't need a powerful computer. I have an Athlon X2 and a GTX 460 with 3 GB of RAM and I can run this game at 20 FPS with no problems. It doesn't take a computer as powerful as you think. Remember these words as they are 96% true: System requirements aren't always accurate. I can run just about anything as long as it isn't required to support DirectX 11. The community of Crysis 2 is smart, the company who owns Crysis 2 isn't. Talking to you, EA. +1

Replay Value

None, really. I cannot see myself going back and playing this game again. I feel this way about a lot of games. I don't even see myself playing the multiplayer. Don't plan on playing it again.

Is it worth it?

Absolutely. The Crysis franchise may not be very good, but Crysis 2 is much better than Crysis 1. Don't waste your money on the first.

2/3

Thanks for reading my review. If you have any questions, Email me at lemonsanddragons@gmail.com. Another thing to know, I just purchased Guns of Icarus Online and Borderlands. Neither will be my next review but I plan on doing AirBuccaneers afterwards. Be warned, the review will not be pretty as the game needs a LOT of work. Look forward to it. It will be very informative.

PaRappa the Rapper - Is it worth it?

PaRappa, PaRappa, PaRappa. One of the greatest games on the Playstation. The game that invented quick time events. A game that can be so simple, yet so fun. This is why it's worth it.

Gameplay

PaRappa's gameplay is simple. Watch the buttons you have to press, then press them yourself. I like to think of it as the original Guitar Hero if someone played the song before you did to show you how to play it. It's more of a rhythm game, but it's weird how a game where you literally just press buttons can be so addictive.

Reputation

PaRappa honestly hasn't had much of a reputation. Although it has been Let's play'd by PewDiePie and mentioned in Extra Credits, it hasn't gotten very much attention. That's sad because it's a really good game and deserves to be played more.

Replay value

PaRappa doesn't have as much of replay value as a game like Borderlands, but I have picked it up again when I'm bored and play through the entire thing, so it does have some replay value in it. Especially for kids competing for a higher score, like I used to.

Is it worth it?

Yes, yes, yes. PaRappa is a game you HAVE to play if you have a Playstation or a PSP. It's so very very worth it even if you don't pick it up again after playing it.

Thanks for viewing this video. If you have any suggestions, (I said suggestions, not requests) send me an Email at lemonsanddragons@gmail.com. I plan on doing the Crysis games after I complete them.

Hotline Miami - Is it worth it?

Hotline Miami is a game where you think "How does anyone not get frustrated by this?" The reason is because you can expect it. If you can die in one hit, you can expect it to happen a few times. Despite its gameplay, Hotline Miami is something you HAVE to play.

Gameplay

Hotline Miami's gameplay is fast and dangerous. Get hit with a blunt object, get shot once, or even get pinned down by a dog, and you die instantly. This keeps you on the edge of your seat and makes you look around every corner and every room thoroughly to see what's in there and what everyone in the room is carrying. This is important for coming up with a strategy that works. I would have an image to use as an example, but the game doesn't support Fraps and I can't find an image without dead bodies everywhere, so use your imagination: Kick a door down while someone walks past it, smash his head into the ground, pick up his weapon, kick down another door while someone is in front of it, throw your weapon at someone running at you, kill them both by either breaking their face with the weapon or by smashing their heads in the ground, and continue on your violent and gory adventure.

Community

Hotline Miami has gotten a lot of feedback, as shown by this taken straight off the website,

and everyone who's made those reviews seem pretty nice. No trolls, nobody arguing about how high a grade they got on a chapter, it's all just people playing the game.

Replay value

After you beat the game, you get four additional levels to fill in a plot hole in some of the middle chapters, and you also get a bonus mission which I have no idea how to complete. Even after completing those, I can't resist going back to play a level again because it was just that good.

Is it worth it?

Hell yes it's worth it. Twenty chapters to play through, 50+ unlockable masks and weapons, and the enjoyment of going back to play those levels again.

3/3

Thanks for reading the full review. If you have any suggestions, (I said suggestions, not requests) ask me in the comments below. If you want to donate a game, send it to me in a Steam gift, (Steam: LemonsAndDragons) and if you have any questions, ask me at lemonsanddragons@gmail.com. I might also replace community with reputation for singleplayer games and only talk about community in multiplayer games. I hope you enjoyed the review.

Important things to keep in mind

Hello! This is my first post on this Blog so I'll begin by addressing some things you HAVE to understand as I won't say them anywhere else except my YouTube channel description: (channel: LemonsAndDragons)

1. I will never talk about story or visuals. Ever. EVER. The only reason I would is if they affect the gameplay, which they almost always don't.

2. I rate games on a score of zero to three. Giving a point for gameplay, community/reputation, and replay value each. This means if I give a game a one, it's still a half score.

3. I don't take requests. The reason being people won't stop bugging me about it until I do it. I'll only talk about it if you give me the game for free on my Steam account. (Steam: LemonsAndDragons)

4. I don't have a post schedule. I post when I feel like it. This may change in the future if it becomes my full time job.

If this blog site gets popular, I'll turn it into a video series. If you have any questions, you can Email me at lemonsanddragons@gmail.com. I hope you enjoy!
